Does this dress look familiar? Well, it should—this gorgeous regalia gown is a true testament to the generosity of others. It is a dress I was only able to afford thanks to the selfless donations, sponsorships, and investments from mentors, organizations, and supporters who believed in me as I competed for the title of Miss Florida 2024. And now, it has found a new life, worn by Gabriela Hagman as she competed for the title of Strawberry Queen.

Gaby dedicated months of hard work to afford her participation in the pageant. It was a journey of perseverance, and in the end, it all paid off as she secured the coveted title.

Seeing her shine on stage, I was reminded of my own journey and the many hands that lifted me along the way. Her interview outfit? A clearance-section red jumpsuit that I wore during the Miss Tampa pageant back in 2022—now reborn in 2025 as a symbol of resourcefulness.

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to my village. Your support of me has had an impact far beyond just my personal success. By empowering me, you have enabled me to support countless other girls—not only with mentorship, love, and encouragement but with the gowns and attire that help them feel confident as they chase their dreams.

Inspired by this journey, I have a vision: a "Confidence Closet"—a collective wardrobe made possible by the success of women in the Florida pageant scene. Imagine giving attire a second life, ensuring that each contestant has access to the tools they need to compete confidently. How would it work? The collection and dissemination of items would function much like a library system, stored and tracked by one candidate and shared amongst others in need. (If you are a willing candidate to take on this venture I would be happy to assist; however, I do not have the bandwidth to execute this idea alone).

I hope to bring this initiative to fruition and further the dreams of many aspiring queens. And I want to remind everyone reading this: you don't have to wear something new, designer, or expensive to win a pageant (I won Miss Tampa in a $200 stunning Platinum Zipper Gown). What sets you apart is your authenticity, confidence, and unwavering belief in yourself.

Congratulations to Gabriela Hagman on her reign over the 90th Annual Strawberry Queen Festival. It is an honor to mentor you and to see you embrace the opportunities that come with hard work and support. Here's to the power of sponsorship, and the endless cycle of empowerment that keeps our community thriving.
